Part 1: Before the upgrade#

Before starting the upgrade make sure to:

  1. Finish all the activities performed on the Intel® Geti™ platform (including training and inference jobs). During the upgrade, the Intel® Geti™ platform’s components are restarted several times - and it affects the Intel® Geti™ platform’s behavior.

  2. Perform a backup. Refer to the Backup & Recovery section for detailed instructions on how to perform a backup.

  3. Ensure there is required available disk space for the upgrade. Firstly, the installer requires 20GB of space for its execution. Secondly, while the installer automatically performs a back-up of the data-folder, it excludes ‘binary_data’ subfolder. Ensure you have space equivalent to the size of the data-folder minus ‘binary_data’ subfolder, plus additional 20GB.

  4. Ensure that the entire directory path, starting from the root to the location where you plan to extract the installer and from which you plan to run the platform upgrade, does not contain spaces in any of its names. This is due to installer limitations that can cause errors if spaces are present in any part of the directory path.
